PRAN Systems, born from the acronym Production — Recherche — Analogique — Numérique (Production — Research — Analog — Digital), officially began operations in 1992. It was founded to address serious industry shortcomings. Indeed, it was after the observation of several deficiencies in vehicle electrical systems and the possibility to remedy the situation with electronics that PRAN was created. Initially, Mr. Daniel Arteau, an electrical engineer with 14 years experience in the industry, launched the company with a partner, also an electrical engineer. PRAN was originally a family business, starting off in the Arteau family’s basement garage. In 1993, PRAN left the basement of the founder’s residence and moved to the CREDEQ (Centre Régional de Développement d’Entreprises de Québec), a business incubator located in Quebec City. With the Prevost Car bus company, now part of the Volvo Group, as its first client, PRAN began its growth and development.
The time of the start-up in the family garage is now over and PRAN now equips over 100,000 vehicles worldwide. With clients in over 15 different countries, PRAN multiplies business partnerships and builds long-term relationships based on trust and commitment. With the acquisition in 2018 of a new production plant which also houses its headquarters, PRAN is experiencing solid and promising growth. Formed of CAN technology and multiplexing experts, the company continues to push the envelope in order to offer its clients and future clients products and services which exceed their expectations. Much more than a simple manufacturing company, PRAN understands the stakes of the different markets in which it operates.
